1.They know where your bike is, and whatever it is its valuable enough to try to steal, so start locking the bike to things with a chain. Theft is all about deterrents. Your bike will get stolen, unless you make it harder to steal than the next bike.

2.Look up how to pull the ignition in the manual, its always pretty easy, no idea what bike this is though. You'll need a new one if they jacked it up bad enough to release the pins, but I guess you could try a locksmith.

3.You could, at this point, make a kill switch before wiring up the new ignition. Basically a disguised switch somewhere on the bike wired into the ignition circuit such that even if the ignition key is in and turned on, it still won't power the circuit.

4.In PNW, your bike will be stolen. If its parked on the street they'll lift it into a van and drive away. If its parked somewhere dark they'll have time to wire it in place. Even if its in a busy place, they'll steal the license plates, because meth.

Remove the ignition switch from the bike. It's not too difficult but can be a pain. Look up the procedure for your bike. Take it to a locksmith. If they can fix it, great. If not, buy a replacement switch online. depending on the bike it might be silly cheap or holy fuck that's expensive.

Last night I discovered an attempted theft of my motorcycle. The lock is broken with what looks like the locking pins, or other metal parts, rolling around in the locking mechanism. I can not insert the key or do anything with it. I have made a police report of attempted theft, but I'm not sure how to proceed with getting it back to being operational. So thankful that they were unable to actually steal it. With that said, hopefully this post can help others in similar situations as well. What should I do now? Thank you!
