DT 2 project restaration, part 1

To kick things off a little backround on this project. A good friend of mine bought the bike about 20 years ago in pristine condition. He met some gal and let her kids ride it. They totally hammered the thing. I bought it about 2 years ago in pretty bad shape. It was pretty much all there but missing some stuff.

I wanted it for myself but got sidetracked and sold it to my "Buddy" I have know since before 1st grade who wants to restore it and give it to his son as a wedding present. I just finished this one up for him a couple of months ago. It was more or less a mechanical rebuild with some cosmetic things done. It is not perfectly correct but it came out sweet and he rides it around 4-5 times a week.

His deal with me is to help out with the build so he can learn. He is quite challenged by mechanicals on motorcycles. He got the tin work painted and the frame sandblasted, and I sprayed out the frame. His buddy did the motor which was given to me as all buffed out and ready to put into the bike, which after receiving it I will be taking some of it apart. It is horrid compared to my standards.We will see how this goes. It may be a long project, so here we are as of sometime in August.
