Hello

OK - the new kick-start has arrived and Hallelujah it will clear the pegs beautifully.......but (why is there always a clucking BUT!) the kick-start boss is going to foul my lovely KTM brake pedal.

The boss will foul the new rear brake pedal on the down stroke in the area of the arrow.

The item is a stock KTM 990 rear brake pedal but I now need to reshape it inwards and have it run closer to the casing to avoid the kick-start. Here is the view from the rear and there is plenty of scope to move the pedal across to a better profile that will look better and function correctly, a sort of 'in to out' profile.

So - is it possible to re-shape this myself? Is this wise with alloy? I know heat will be involved but any tips would be gratefully received. The pedal will be painted afterwards so I'm not afraid to get the lump hammer out but it's a lightweight item and sure to snap if given too much abuse...

Cheers

Strange, mine catches too. Just a tiny bit so I live with it, was going to take a half moon slice out of it, just 5mm would do. Might do that now you have reminded me. The KTM brake pedals do bend, had one go right round the footpeg once, couldn't work out where it was until I fell off and spotted it.
