An imprisonment for up to 2 years is provided to an erratic motorcyclist of the roads of Canada.
It’s a good example of what you shouldn’t do. Such behavior has a bad impact on the reputation of the motorcyclists and leads to bad consequences. James Cole was sentenced to two years in a federal prison and banned from driving his red Honda for another two years. The list of his offences is impressive. He is expected to plead guilty to charges including criminal harassment, flashing an imitation handgun at anyone who got in his way, dangerous driving, theft of gas and failing to stop for police.
The 26-year-old motorcyclist became the subject of a manhunt last June after police released a photograph of him riding the distinctive motorcycle and flashing the middle finger to another driver.
Prosecutor Kerry McVey showed a judge the picture made by an Ontario Ministry of Transportation officer not long after Cole broke speed limits greatly and sped between cars on the double yellow line in the center of McNeely Street in Carleton Place.
As it turned out, several weeks before he was arrested, Cole had broken the rules for multiple times. So what have he done? The court heard about some of his adventures. For example, Cole admitted he was riding his bike through a red light at the crowded corner of Woodroffe Avenue and Baseline Road. A day before that, Cole had pulled the gun on a man because of pointing at him after the motorcyclist raced too fast. McVey also told, over the next 12 days police received a great amount of reports of an erratic rider on a red distinctive motorcycle with missing or fake license plate.
The police, with the help of former motorcycle owners, easily found the offender and confiscated the bike. James pleaded guilty to 10 charges and was sentenced to 2 years.
After spending several weeks in prison, Cole was released on a $15,000 bail. However, his happiness didn’t last long. Soon he violated his release conditions by calling his grandfather, which meant, that Cole ended up back in custody again.
