Bad news for road race fans, since Bruce Anstey will miss Isle of Man TT 2018 and probably the entire 2018 road racing season, because of multiple tumors found on his lungs, as well as a tumor on his spine.

Ann Ramsey posted to Facebook the news of the cancer’s return, so Bruce will miss most of the season or even more.

Anstey was slated to ride with the Mugen Team, on the Shinden Nana electric superbike in the TT Zero race, as well as with the Padgetts Honda team in the superbike and supersport classes.

Anstey knows well about cancer. He had survived testicular cancer back in the 1990s. This time his treatment will surely be aggressive, as testicular cancer often metastasizes in the lungs and the lymph nodes along the neck, chest, and pelvis.

John McGuinness, Bruce's mate, wrote the words of support: “One of the most naturally gifted riders on the planet, you wouldn’t meet a nicer guy!”

It is not clear what Anstey’s treatment schedule will mean. Anstey has 12 TT races win. We wish him a speedy recovery, return and new victories!
