The Tyco BMW rider, Dan Kneen died this evening following injuries sustained during the Superbike qualifying session at the Isle of Man.
Kneen had an accident at Churchtown on the first lap of the Wednesday’s session and unfortunately died at the scene of the incident.
The accident happened at the 37-mile Mountain course and caused the session to be stopped…
Dan Kneen started his debut at the Manx Grand Prix in 2008, where he won three races – the Junior, the Newcomers C and the Ultra Lightweight MGP Races. In last year’s Superstock Race he achieved his first TT podium position after coming third in the Superstock TT Race. Also he recorded a fastest official lap of 130.347mph there. Last night during Superbike qualifying session Dan broke his own record and finished at 132.258mph (17:06.994).
