Helite has been manufacturing waistcoats and backpacks with airbags for some time. All products were previously operated only mechanically using a cable that was attached to the motorcycle. In the event of an accident, the cable was disconnected from the motorcycle, and the pillow was inflated in milliseconds.
Over the past year, Helite engineers have worked hard to create a system that works automatically based on the sensor. The French came up with a design based on two sensors: the first is installed in the pillow, the second is placed on the fork of the motorcycle.
The sensor on the plug triggers in 32 milliseconds. The sensor in the pillow responds after 62 milliseconds. The system works completely autonomously. You don’t need to connect to your smartphone or GPS.The internal sensor battery should be enough for five years.
The Helite airbag will be delivered as before, but now it will be possible to purchase a sensor on the plug.By the way, the sensor is effective and necessary at low speeds, so its use on the track is not expected.
Two new Turtle 2 and GP Air products have appeared in the Helite 2020 line, and the French are also working on a new backpack with an integrated airbag.
