Racer and safety fan Bill Simpson died at the age of 79. The founder of Simpson Racing Products, which manufactures Simpson helmets, was a racer, developer, and advocate for safety in racing.

Bill Simpson was a great personality.

“Bill was a hippie when I first met him and then a cranky old man. However, he went from nothing to success. He worked hard and had a good mind - he didn’t choose the way of ordinary people, ”says Bobby Anser, three-time Indy 500 champion.

Bill Simpson and his company were pioneers in the field of equipment, the development of drag racing parachutes, and fireproof protective suits for racing drivers (they even set people on fire to show how effective the suits are now).

Where did so many ideas come from? Billy started as a racer and felt all the risks that riders go through. It is hard to imagine how many lives saved the products of Simpson and his company. Simpson was not a motorcyclist, but his company produces helmets.

Our condolences to family, friends and Billy fans.
