Motorcycles and champagne, it turns out, are very close. Wine producer Contadi Castaldi, being the official wine partner of the Ducati Corse racing division introduced the exclusive sparkling wine called "Brut Race".

Two soul mates who met to unite their common values: ambition, research, innovation, dedication, and creativity. This is an important partnership between two famous companies that were born in small regional cities. Both companies are known around the world and compete among other companies from the relevant sectors at the highest level.

Prehistory of a wine adventure

March 2017 marked the beginning of the adventure. Francesca Moretti, CEO of Terra Moretti Vino, and Gianluca Ucccelli, chief winemaker of the Contadi Castaldi, collect three cuvées from about eighty base wines.

Together with Terra Moretti Vino president Vittorio Moretti, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali and Ducati Corse general manager, engineer Luigi Dall-Inya, they chose that cuvée which most vividly illustrated the temperament and soul of those two brands. After determining the composition of the cuvée in May 2017, a circulation followed. After bottling, the wine was transformed month after month during secondary fermentation and this wine "rested" until September 2019. At that moment, the wine was ready and “impatient” for the digestion. To solve this problem, it was necessary to add the most dynamic liquor. Starting in December 2019, the wine was ready to drink. This was great news for all fans of Ducati and Contadi Castaldi.

Francesca Moretti, CEO of Terra Moretti Vino, said: “I wanted to get a wine that would glorify Ducati yesterday and today, extolling its uniqueness, its extraordinary ability to evoke emotions. Franciacorta with expressive, dynamic aromas as flexible and twisty as the S-curve, with a fresh, upright, powerful and energetic character like our new V4.”

Characteristics of wine “Brut Race”

This is a wine with immediate and direct Franciacorta taste, fragrant, with a balanced and versatile style. It has a straw yellow color, as well as a lively, thin and resistant perlage. Fresh aroma with hints of citrus, cedar, pineapple, and pear.

Grape varieties: Chardonnay 80%, Pinot Nero 10%, Pinot Bianco 10%.

Price in Europe: 21 euros.
