Located south of Finland by way of the Baltic Sea and west of Russia, the small Northeastern European country of Estonia is not one many people think about often. But if the work of Kalapea Design is any indication, that’s a fact that should change swiftly — at least in the custom motorcycle world. For proof, just look at their Ducati Hypermotard 796 ‘Hyperscrambler.’
With a patina that makes it look like something you might see ridden around post-apocalypse, this bike is certainly a head-turner. But it didn’t start that way. In fact, the bike was a complete wreck before Kalapea got their hands on it. And we don’t think it’s too much to say that the transformation is remarkable. Now she boasts a tank from a Moto Guzzi V7, waterproofed luggage boxes custom made from metal fuel tanks (along with custom racks), Suzuki GN all-metal fenders, and a standalone programmable ECU and Acewell dash rig. And that’s just the beginning. Unfortunately, the bike is already spoken for, but we’ll be keeping our eye out for more masterworks like this one from Kalapea Design.
