The Kawasaki Versys 650 initially hit the market in 2007, with a displacement of 649 cc.

While the machine has generally received positive reviews. It’s since been outclassed by its smaller Ninja siblings, especially in terms of performance.

The Kawasaki range-topper saw an update back in 2014. And it featured a bigger bore at 83 mm while staying at the same total displacement.

Update: And here’s what Kawasaki promises will be another styling& refresh for the machine set to arrive at dealerships next year.

It’s a powerful yet easy-to-ride motorcycle. And it doesn’t pick fights with more expensive machines like Harley-Davidsons.

So it makes sense that the Versys 650 should get an update would put it on par with its rival cruisers while not entirely cannibalizing sales of its line of bikes.

Expected specs

There has still been no official word on Kawasaki’s& plans for the Versys 650. But we can assume it will get an update in 2022. Otherwise, we would be without Kawasaki’s entry-level mid-lightweight ADV for another year.

As far as we can gather from the latest info and rumours. The Versys 650 will get a new model and colour scheme. And be upgraded with a broader range of standard equipment and more top-shelf features.

However, one bad news we would see the same 649cc. 180-degree crankshaft-equipped parallel-twin motor that makes 66 hps.

Further, we’ve seen reports that Kawasaki is planning an update to include visual improvements for both bikes, with things like new bumper treatments.

Now this means you may get to see a chiselled fuel tank.LED headlights. And macho aesthetics, a new full-colour TFT console.

It will be a high-end. High-performance adv that is expected to be designed to provide a different riding experience from the standard Versys for those who have the means to acquire one.

European approval documents show the new 2022 Versys 650 will have a lower stance of 53.5 inches. While the current has 55.1 inches. The windscreen will also have a lower setting.

The new 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 will arrive on November 23, so let’s see what Kawasaki has in store.
