This bike started its life as a 1996 Moto Guzzi V10 Centauro. The transformation was commissioned to Mauro Abbadini of Classic.co, in Arganda del Rey, Madrid, Spain.

Changes to the original bike are many and radical, to the point where one can say that all that is remaining is the CroMoly Spine Frame, and the oil sump. The idea was to build a Moto Guzzi Sports Bike with a classic racer feel for the street, so everything was changed with efficiency and weight saving as the main goal. This is not, and doesn’t pretend to be, a Moto Guzzi MGS-01 Replica.

Hence the name, “V10 CENTAURO SUPERLEGGERA”. Obviously, it is not, from the performance point of view, a superbike by modern standards. But it is capable of making fast progress on any type of road, and displays the unflappable stability and torquey feel that the “Guzzisti” have come to expect and love.

The main changes have been:

MOTOR, GEAR CHANGE AND FINAL DRIVE: we started off with the air/oil cooled Moto Guzzi Centauro OHV 4 valve twin, displacing 992cc.

The bike has been kitted with:

  • Daytona RS cylinders and pistons.
  • Moto Guzzi MGS-01 “kit c” cams.
  • Carrillo rods.
  • Moto Guzzi MGS-01 oil pump.
  • Lightened and balanced crank.
  • Modified injectors.
  • Ported and gas flowed admission and exhaust tracts.
  • Modified “kit c” Ecu chip.
  • Lightened and balanced flywheel.
  • Lightened starting crown.
  • Daytona racing 5 speed gearbox (closed ratio, lightened shafts. Straight teeth, quick change coupling lugs).
  • Daytona shaft and final bevel drive.
  • "One off” shaft reaction torsion bar.
  • Relocated oil cooler.
  • Complete exhaust setup “Termignoni Racing”.

CHASSIS: we started off with the CroMoly Spine Frame from a Moto Guzzi Centauro V10, which has been thoroughly modified:

  • Motor mounts from a Moto Guzzi V11 frame (so as tocentre the motor which is offset from the factory to allow wider wheels)
  • One off chassis modifications (bracing)
  • Swing arm modified to fit wider wheels and braced.
  • 17” Racing Forged Wheels from Moto Guzzi MGS-01.
  • Tyres: 120/70/17 y 190/50/17.
  • Carbon fibre front and rear racing mudguards.
  • Rear Ohlins TTR shock absorber with remote hydraulicdials and adjustable in length.
  • Multi adjustable Front Forks Bimota-Paioli 46mm (carbonfibre) from a Bimota 500.
  • Daytona RS top yoke.
  • Speed Hut GPS Speedo and adjustable RPM meter with shift Light.
  • CroMoly semi handlebars.
  • One off custom made Gas Tank.
  • One off custom made rear sets.
  • Mirrors with led indicators.
  • Rear led indicators and license plate light.
  • One off custom made Gas Tank with internal pump.
  • One off custom made CNC machined aluminium gas cap.
  • Moto Guzzi MGS-01 Carbon Fibre fairing, seat and tail section.
  • Custom made front light bracket.
  • Front main light adapted from an Aprilia Leonardo Scooter.
  • All electric components (ECU, Battery, Relays, Fuses etc), relocated under the tail.
  • New electric wiring harness.
  • One off custom aluminium made rear subframe.
  • Daytona swing arm pivot points and plates.
  • Brembo 320mm front brake discs.
  • Brembo front and rear brake pumps with remote reservoir and Brembo Gold Calipers.
  • Custom made side stand, relocated for comfortable and secure use.

There are probably many more small things done to the bike. But all the above is the important stuff. And what is even more important, the bike is legal and roadworthy in Spain, having been all the transformations homologated and legalized, except the Termignoni pipes.
