Based in Stockholm, CAKE is an electric motorcycle startup that released its first flagship model — the Red Dot Design Award-winning Kalk electric dirtbike — in early 2018. And while CAKE set the bar incredibly high with its first battery-powered MXer, the Swedish brand has now pushed the envelop once more with the debut of its new high-performance flagship two-wheeled off-roader with the Bukk.

The CAKE Bukk is constructed around an all-new extruded and forged 6061 aluminum frame that’s been paired with an inverted WP Cone valve air fork and an Öhlins S46 rear shock that’s been customized for the Bukk — suspension items that afford 10.94” and 11.69” of travel respectively. Boasting a curb weight of just 187lbs, the CAKE Bukk also comes loaded with four ride modes and three braking modes. Like its KALK predecessor, the Bukk sports an ultra-sleek set of bodywork that puts a thoroughly futuristic spin on traditional MX designs.

Offering a category-leading power-to-weight ratio, this electric motorcycle is powered by an all-new 16-kW (21.45-hp) drivetrain that puts down an insane 309.77ft-lbs of instantaneous torque. Good for a top speed of over 60mph, the Bukk’s motor draws from a 72V, 40Ah, 2.9kWh, 21,700-lithium cell battery that weighs only 46lbs, can be swapped out without the use of tools, and offers up to three hours of ride time on a single charge. This battery also features class-leading energy density and can receive a 0 to 80% charge in just 1.5 hours.

Priced at $14,970, the 2023 CAKE Bukk electric dirtbike is available for order now, requiring a deposit of $1,000. What’s more, CAKE is also producing a limited 50-unit run of Launch Edition Bukk models.
