In 2016, Indian Motorcycle linked up with legendary Lynchburg distillery Jack Daniel’s to deliver a limited edition run of JD-themed motorcycles — a release that was so successful, that the two American brands have opted to follow it up with a new LE bike each year since. And after last year’s “Jackified” Challenger model, the pair has now revealed the 2023 iteration of the cruiser bike collab with the Jack Daniel’s Limited Edition Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse.
Based on the already high-end, blacked-out Bobber Dark Horse trim level of the Indian Chief, the new Jack Daniel’s Limited Edition version gains a wealth of bespoke features and visual elements. Developed in collaboration with South Dakota’s Klock Werks Kustom Cycles, the limited edition cruiser motorcycle sports a Jack Daniel’s-stamped solo seat, white JD script on the fenders front and rear, a JD logo etched into the exhaust, multiple JD Edition plaques, and a one-of-a-kind Montana Silversmith badge that’s engraved with each unit’s limited edition serial number. What’s more, for the first time each bike is also completely painted by hand, using a Super Graphite paint that’s been infused with actual Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 whiskey.
Constructed around a steel tubed frame, the bike is powered by Indian’s air-cooled 1,1890cc Thunderstroke 116 engine that’s been gifted cooling fin-equipped non-machined highlighted cylinders and heads, and Cloud Silver-painted rockers and pushrod tubes. This results in the engine — which is easily upgradable and outfitted with a trio of throttle maps — achieving a raw metal look that pays homage to Indian’s antique moto models. In lieu of regular tank badges, the bike’s fuel-cell has been decorated via a single Indian Motorcycle Script “I” adorning both sides. Other noteworthy additions to this LE model include white center-spoke wheels, an adaptive lean-angle sensitive Pathfinder 5.25” LED headlight, a tinted Klock Werks flared wind deflector, and a retro-inspired 4” RIDE COMMAND display that’s disguised to look like a vintage analog gauge.
Limited to only 177 units worldwide, the 2023 Jack Daniel’s Limited Edition Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse has been priced starting at $24,499. The order window for the new Indian x JD model opens on March 14 at 12:00PM EST — though like previous years, we anticipate this limited edition model to completely sellout within hours if not mere minutes.
