Safety Tip of the Week

Look where you want to go! One of the most important things to know when riding a motorcycle is that you WILL go where you are looking. It's always easy to apply when everything is perfect, but what about when the unexpected happens: a car coming into your lane, object in the road, or maybe you're going just a little too fast and starting to drift out? Many riders freeze up, roll off the throttle, and look at the exact thing they don't want to hit. Instead, you need to hold the throttle steady, focus your head and eyes on where you want to go, and lean the motorcycle harder. Remember, the turns' exit is your target, NOT the oncoming vehicle or other object you're avoiding! Dig deep and finish the ride.

I remember this being a total mind block!

This becomes especially critical on a road like the Dragon. It takes some getting used to but can become instinctual with consistent practice.
