Blue Mountains Escape (1-2 May 2021)

For those who haven't ridden through the Blue Mountains, I absolutely recommend!! My impromptu road trip this weekend was my first ever one solo! And the first overnight ride since my crash back in December...

Cronulla-Katoomba-Lithgow-Bilpin-Wisemans Ferry and then the loop back again!

Katoomba was beautiful and really turned on the charm, but I have to say Bilpin stole my heart with hot apple pie and ice cream and an afternoon of cider and live music at Hillbilly Cider Co.

Spent the night at Wisemans Ferry Inn which had great food and welcoming locals.

We have “blue ridge” mountains. I also recommend riding through them.

I don’t think there’s anything nearly as beautiful as the pictures you’ve posted though in America. Kind of sad really our country is so huge ???
Really not a lot of awesome things to see here compared to other places

    • Vger, I'm sure that's not true! I bet there are some truly beautiful places in the US... I'd love to get over there one day ?

Allow me to rephrase. In the United States of America. Not all of America ?

Lovely area. There is some beautiful spots out this way. You were so close to Bathurst and a quick lap around mount panorama. There is some great rides out to Tarana pub and also a great ride down to Goulburn through the Abercrombie river.
Lovely pictures and was great riding weather too

  • Yeah it was gorgeous through that way and perfect weather (albeit Sunday morning was super cold with the fog!) I've been out to bathurst before and done hot laps at mount panorama and did the ride back to Canberra through Abercrombie it was such a great ride. I'll be back out that way again soon I think - I've had a few people on other sites recommend the ride out to Mudgee

Atlanta (insta: Aussie_biker_babe ), Mudgee is a great ride, usually do an overnighter. Bathurst through Sofala, rhylstone, lue then to Mudgee. Plenty of wine tasting too hence it being an overnighter ?

If adventurous Mudgee, bylong valley up to singletons is picturesque.

      • Chris Jones, Sounds awesome, and yes I'm a big fan of overnighters... Mainly due to the fatigue I feel in the late arvo if I've been riding all day... Plus I love the opportunity to sit and relax and enjoy the destination... Ad many beers lol...

Atlanta (insta: Aussie_biker_babe ), Oh definitely, especially with coming from Canberra it’s a good ride already. Good excuse for a ride and beer ?

          • Chris Jones, Well yeah it was when I did the bathurst run up... I'm in Sydney now so the start and end of my trips suck with bullshit traffic and kamikaze drivers... But I've not explored much of the greater western and northern parts of the state so it's not too bad being 3 hours closer lol
