March 11 is the first day of combat races for speed records at the Baikal Mile 2022.

Literally from the very first attempts, the previous "Mile" record among cars was broken - 251.950 km / h against 235.5 km / h (the speed that Sergey Mudrik showed in 2020 on a Toyota Chaser). Sergey Aksenov from the Big Boys Big Toys team installed it on Chevrolet Sedan Delivery.

The fastest among motorcycles was the Suzuki Hayabusa, on which Anatoly Ushakov from the RS Motorsport team accelerated to 240.2 km/h. Recall that the previous absolute record among motorcycles (and it is also the absolute record of the Baikal Mile for all the years of the event) belongs to Alexander Mishkinis, 262.8 km/h on a stock BMW S1000RR.
