Are riding jeans safe to wear?

I want something that looks good, feels nice but also provides safety while riding so l ended up opting for a pair of black riding jeans. They fulfill the AA requirement and have reinforcements around the necessary area.

    They will protect you well for minor tumbles and low speed slides, but if you go down at highway speeds, they may not hold up until you come to a stop...
