Recommendation for Neck Protection?

I'm looking for a recommendation for some kind of neck protection, not like a bace or restraint or anything, but some kind of deterrent agaisnt taking cicadas directly to the throat at 100kph and then having to pull over wheezing. My ADV jacket has a high collar, but isn't ventilated, and it's around 30°С outside where I'm at. My summer jacket has enough padding to deflect body shots, but leaves a gap between my shoulders and helmet. I thought about just wearing a scarf, but it's way too hot for that and those neck gaiters do absolutely nothing against massive insect damage.
