The Bimota Tesi first appeared in production form in 1990 and took the world by storm
Initially released with the Ducati 851 engine it soon grew to 904 and beyond.
With its forkless Hub Centered Steering front end.
In 1997 a special model of this very rare bike was offered in Japan only.
1997 Bimota Tesi 1D 400J and just 51 produced
equipped with the 400 engine from the Ducati 400SS.
They were available in red. white and blue with the monogram "Tesi 1D" at the sides of the fairing and "400" on the sides of the rear cowl.
The chassis was slightly different. with the arc of the omega narrower to link up better with the smaller engine. Marzocchi suspension front and rear. Lovely example by Moto Corse featured.
