The very first Norton V4 SS superbikes have rolled off the new production line at the Donington Hall factory. Only 200 units of the bike are planned to be produced.
This stunning V4 SS is the best of all technologically advanced vehicles of Norton’s lineups. The bike is equipped with a 1,200cc liquid-cooled V4 engine at a 72-desgree angle, which sets it apart from the RSV4’s 65-degree arrangement, and produces a claimed 200bhp at 12,500rpm. The Norton V4’s motor has been designed and hand-built at the Donington Hall factory.
Inside, there’s quite a handful of electronics, which is always a good thing. And when we say, that the V4 comes with an extensive electronics suite, we mean traction control, launch control, cruise control, quickshifter/auto-blipper, keyless ignition and engine braking option, as well as datalogging capabilities for the track/getting shafted by the rozzers. This gadgetry is managed by a Bosch IMU.
The specific feature of the bike id its bodywork made of carbon fibre, which can either be in black or in chrome. The wheels are also made up of carbon fiber to keep the weight of the bike in check. The suspension setup is from Ohlins; NIX30 front fork and a TTX GP setup at the rear.
As we’ve already noticed, the British motorcycle manufacturer has planned to produce 200 units of the bike which will be divided into two production time periods. The first 100 units will be made available only for the British market. And the rest will reach its global audience starting in May 2019.
As for the price, the Norton V4 SS is expected to have a tag of € 51,000. According to Norton, there will be also a more affordable variant of the V4 SS, called the V4 RR. Apparently, the second version would be less equipped, but there is no more detailed information about it yet.
