Brakes... brakes.... oh dear...

So.. No I haven't come off but this is about my brakes..
Decided in the era of self isolation and to get away from the kids for a while I would look at my brakes, due to the bike becoming heavy to push and some scrubbing sound on the rear pad..
The other morning I set to it, got the rear cover off come to pads.. Removed springs, pins... Omg! I don't think they have been off In the whole 21 yrs of the bike being on the planet.

Shocking state, clearly never been off, God knows how they've gone with the pads but with just 18000 miles I don't know if they maybe have been changed once.
Not much more for sure..

So I love to the front..
Nope... Exactly the same.. Awful state. Its taken three goes with the blowtorch to removed the pins, deposits like gel behind the piston, rubber seals nakered in, so now I'm waiting on some new seals and pins, to refurb and clean the calipers up. Can't wait to get them back on and ride again.. Just hope now I don't go over the handle bars when I have brakes that are set properly!
