I'd been putting off replacing the head bearings for ages
Concerned it would be too easy to damage the frame. I cut into the lower inner race with a Dremel, cracked it with a small cold chisel and used it to drive the new one on.
There was no problem using the old outer races to press the new ones in, they can't get stuck as the new races are taller and sit proud of the frame recess (this doesn't affect the overall height of the assembly). I tapped them so they sat level then pressed them in with some threaded M12 rod and big washers.
Also got some other jobs done while the front was off.
