Dunlop reported about recalling motorcycle tires over manufacturing error.

A National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) report informs that the recalling concerns only the USA market.

As it was described in the report, Sumitomo Rubber USA, LLC (Sumitomo) is recalling certain models of Dunlop Sportmax Q3+ motorcycle tires, size 120/70ZR17.

The mentioned tires may present porosities and air pockets in the shoulder region and fail to comply with the requirements of the motor vehicle safety standards. This defect may affect the steering characteristics of the motorcycle, and continued use can lead to tire destruction and even a crash.886416594bb1c76af14.jpg

Dunlop said it will notify the retailers and customers about the recalling along with offering replacement tires free of charge. The recall is going to start this June, but if you want to get more details, you can give Dunlop Motorcycle Tires a call.

The Dunlop Sportmax Q3+ is the only hypersport tire made in the USA. This model was designed at Dunlop’s Buffalo, NY, headquarters and is being produced in the local plant on the same production line as the company’s racing tires.
