Borderless created a helmet that can become a prototype of the future outfit. If other developers try to fit traditional motorcycle helmets with an intelligent stuffing to load the pilot with extra information on the way, the Japanese startup took it to solve the issue with the review for good, and the rest is like a bonus.
Created specifically for this project, the startup put the product on the Japanese Crowdfunding Kickstarter that needs to be invested.
X1 design has two advantages: being in total isolation from the street, the pilot must see and hear everything that he should.
The front of the helmet has a very wide viewing angle, as it includes a rear camera with 170 ° rearward vision. It offers a 170-degree view behind the rider. 60 ° of this indicator is a zone of central vision, zones in 65 °on the right and on the left – are zones of peripheral vision. Thanks to an innovative heads-up-display that projects right onto the visor in front of you, you can see everything going on behind you, like a central mirror in a car.
The active noise-reduction system and noise isolation are superior to all available analogs, which should make the helmet as comfortable as possible. Its patented-noise control system is called CrossSound Control, which filters noises like wind, screeching brakes and other, but at the same time reduces or enhances environmental sounds – cars, the motorcycle itself, people, etc.
Everything going on behind you in addition to other travel information such as speed, compass direction, weather, time and navigation is displayed on a transparent and foldable bifocal lens. The helmet is also equipped with an acoustic system and is a media player, communicator and headset. Its software resembles a smartphone with a 2-core Cortex A9 processor on Android, the built-in memory is 8 Gb, which allows you to fill in the memory of the helmet maps for navigation all over the world.
CrossHelmet X1 weighs about 250 g more than the usual helmet-integral - 1780 g. For startup supporters, it will cost $ 1399, later, when it comes on the market, it is expected to sell it at a price of $ 1,799.
