Michigan motorcyclist is going to write his name into the Guinness Record Book and break his own record on a motorcycle without using his hands.
Phil Comar will attempt to ride 680 miles on his Harley-Davidson without using his hands. If he does, the American will break his own record.
"I am accompanied by various clubs that periodically join my trip," says Comar. "Last year, I rode 588 miles with no hands. Then we lost 80 miles due to heavy rain. "
The route begins at the Michigan border by Toledo. Comar will ride north to Ann Arbor, then west along I-94 to the west coast. Then the route runs north to Grand Rapids, back east to Lansing and finally north towards Mackino.&
"Sometimes people look at me and they can't believe what they're seeing," said Comar. "You can see them slow down, and pretty soon they're riding beside me, videotaping it on their camera or their phone."
Phil Comar enjoys the process, raising money for research into Parkinson's disease. The ride is also to honour Comar's father, who passed away in 2008 due to Parkinson's disease.
"We planned a long journey without hands together with my father...", said Comar. "Over the years we've raised over $26,000. "
