The unknown stole the racing motorcycle Monster Energy Honda CRF 450. The incident happened in the port of Le Havre (France) ahead of its scheduled shipment to Peru for the 2018 Dakar Rally, which starts on January 6.

According to the latest news, the machine was taken on the night of 22nd and 23rd November. The thieves forced their way into the lorry of the team, placed in the docks area, also taking three helmets belonging to the team. A police enquiry has been opened, with investigations focusing on recovering the bike, which is worth €300,000.2288765a2e921f622eb.jpg

The Monster Energy Honda team went to Peru, despite the incident. A post on the team’s site on November 25th, entitled “All successfully aboard! Destination: Lima, Peru”, was reported. The team’s equipment had been loaded from the port of Le Havre on to a ship and was due to depart on 27th November. It has to arrive in a month’s time.

The team has a positive attitude and also huge resources, so nothing is said about the stolen bike in the official press release of the team.4167335a2e9228351c5.jpg
