Dainese & AGV are official partners of the sky racing team VR46 for the 2018 season

Thursday, February 8, 2018 — For the fifth consecutive year, the Sky Racing Team VR46 has selected Dainese and AGV as its official partners for the 2018 motorcycle GP racing season, set to get underway on March 18 with the Qatar Grand Prix. In line with its mission to promote and ensure safety in dynamic sports, Dainese and AGV will support the young Italian riders Francesco Bagnaia, Luca Marini, Nicolò Bulega and Dennis Foggia competing in the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships, offering them head-to-toe safety systems, just as they have done for Valentino Rossi for more than 20 years.

The Sky Racing Team VR46 riders will take to the track protected by D-air®, the Dainese branded airbag system that constitutes state-of-the-art protective technology, the first used in the world championship back in 2007.

Thanks to its electronic platform and algorithm, the true brain and intelligence of the system, D-air® is able to identify dangerous situations and decide whether or not to initiate activation should there be a high-side or low-side. If activated, special airbags are inflated around the rider’s body, covering the neck, shoulders and collarbones. The 3D airbag bag is the heart of the system and the result of proprietary Dainese technology. It allows for controlled inflation across the entire surface owing to its inner micro-filament structure, which ensures both maximum protection and comfort given that it molds to the body and shape of the rider. The bag’s patent-protected construction is unique, differing from every other bag used in the automotive industry.6347825a7d108546dd3.jpgThe technical equipment for riders Bagnaia, Marini, Bulega and Foggia will be completed with the innovative AGV Pista GP R helmet. An evolution of the innovative Pista GP helmet used in MotoGP, it is the most protective helmet ever developed.

The perfect synthesis of protection, performance and comfort, the three cornerstones of AGV Extreme Standards development protocol, the Pista GP R offers an unparalleled field of vision through the introduction of Race 3 Max Pinlock®, a Class 1 Optic visor with 100% Max Vision Pinlock® (120), and is distinguished by its patented Visor Lock System (VLS) fastening. With the use of the new wind tunnel-tested Biplane spoiler, aerodynamic performance is maximized. Comfort is guaranteed by a patented system of interiors and the Integrated Ventilation System (IVS). The Pista GP R is the first helmet to offer an integrated hydration system composed of a series of channels and a valve positioned on the inside of the chin piece.

Dainese was the first to develop and introduce highly innovative
D-air® technology, enabling our riders to move ever closer to their limits, in maximum safety. This is just one more reason to proudly support these young talents, the real promise for the future of motorcycling following on the heels of Valentino Rossi, a career-long Dainese and AGV rider.”
