Hijackers and thieves are different. All are bad people, but sometimes are completely stupid.
The American company Zero began to cooperate with the firm Datatool, which specializes in motor safety literally a few hours before the theft...
"I've been testing electric cycles for a few months," said Dale Robinson, Zero’s manager. "The ultimate test took place last week, when two of our test bikes were literally stolen from a van in the London area. The irony is that the day before we started to cooperate with Datatool and did not even expect that we will test the system the next morning. "
That's right. Zero and Datatool installed security systems just before the theft.
Dale Robinson continues: “I reported the theft at 8.00am and the data confirmed that the bike was stolen at 3.37am. Datatool collaborated with the Met Police’s stolen vehicle squad, and the bikes were tracked to within a meter of their actual location, under a tarpaulin in a timber yard”.
The police commented that the information given to them, in the form of a pinpointed Google map and exact coordinates, was the most accurate they had received. E-bikes were found in just a few hours. Many companies spend whole fortunes on advertising and promotion, and Zero and Datatool had to do was get drunk and leave a couple of bikes in a van on a London street overnight.'
