Taking the base Dragster, Valter Esposito, founder of Valter Moto, wanted to create a “techno-cafe racer”, drawing inspiration from motorcycle racing and car modding. As supplier to the MV Agusta Reparto Corse race team, Esposito installed new handlebars and LED headlights controlled by switches mounted on the side of the bike. Brutale 800 Dragster, called “Blackout”

Based on the MV Agusta Brutale 800, the Dragster carries an inline-triple engine that puts out 125 hp at 11,600 rpm and 81 Nm of torque at 8,600 rpm compared to the 116 hp and 83 Nm of the base machine. With a dry weight of 167 kg against the 175 kg of the Brutale, the 800 Dragster has a power-to-weight ratio of 1.34 kg per hp.

Other parts taken from the Valter Moto catalogue include foot-pegs, levers, oil tanks, fuel filler cap, number plate hanger and turn indicators. A 170-degree rear-view camera feeds a full-colour HD LCD screen, taking the place of rear view mirrors.

Graphics on the Blackout were done by William Melzi of Tecnoart, and the SC-Project S1 exhaust is lifted off Leon Carnier’s MV Agusta F4 WSBK race bike. No word on what the price of the build is, but looking at the components on the MV Agusta Brutale 800 Blackout, it could, in theory, be possible to build your own.
