Remember the Royal Enfield KX Bobber concept? The one that was showcased a couple of years ago at EICMA 2018? Yeah, that one. So, it turns out Royal Enfield recently started testing a prototype based on the aforementioned concept. You know what that means? No, no -- the launch is not round the corner -- this is still a prototype. It means that the bike manufacturer may be bracing to add a brand new model in its portfolio. At the time of showcasing the bike, Royal Enfield had said that it had not yet received the go ahead for the production model; clearly, that's changed now.
But more about the bike now -- the upcoming Royal Enfield bike spotted out and about comes across as a subdued iteration of the KX Bobber concept. Don't get us wrong, it still distinctly looks like the concept but appears to feature the kind of design that gets you the green light for production. What we mean to say is that the spy shots show a bike with a low handlebar, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular headlight, etc. Other features reportedly spotted on the bike include new alloy wheels, dual pod instrument panel, USD forks, and twin-shock absorbers.
The Royal Enfield KX Bobber's India launch is still quite some time away, but when it does arrive, it is expected to come powered by the 650 cc parallel-twin engine that also does duty on Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. The power figures, however, may be different on the RE KX.
