Beautiful classic Honda CB450 brat built by L’établi Garage based on a 1975 parallel twin. After finishing their CX500 cafe racer project they were looking for a different style so when one of their customers came in with a CB450K, it was clear that it should be a brat.
Like most projects, it all started with tearing down the bike, piece by piece. To get the best out of it, every single part has been replaced or refurbished, without missing any bolt, nut or screw. Most of the work is carried out by L’établi Garage, but specialized work like the epoxy paint, high-temperature engine paint and upholstery is done by specialists.
Aesthetics of this build came in collaboration with a friend, a young designer in training with the same love for motorcycles. He started sketching in order to create the perfect line for this machine.
As said, the CB450 was completely disassembled. The rear end was cut off and got a shorter loop to fit the bratstyle seat. The gas tank comes from a CB500F which gives the bike a more “rounded” body. One of the downsides of a bratstyle seat and having a clear triangle in the middle section is to find a place for the battery. So they’ve made a slim battery box that fits under the seat so it’s completely out of sight. Since it’s a bike for regular use, some mudguards that actually work where needed and created out of brushed aluminum. This gives a real cool accent if you look at the black finish of most frame parts and the cool blue gas tank leaning towards the classic brown seat. Stunning bike!
