Drawing inspiration from the world's fastest and most perilous serpent...
Back in the year 2000, as the 21st century unfolded, Honda unveiled the CBR929RR, marking the fifth generation of their iconic Fireblade series of open-class sport motorcycles. It proudly bore the RR suffix, signifying its racing pedigree. Packing a potent 929cc engine churning out an impressive 152 bhp – the highest in its class – this motorcycle featured a lightweight twin-spar aluminum frame and a groundbreaking pivotless swingarm design. Renowned motorcycle journalist Ron Lieback, who possesses one of these remarkable machines, once remarked:
"The 929 was exactly what the world needed at that time, combining the nimbleness and agility of a 600cc bike with the sheer power and speed of a liter bike. Its fuel injection system put it miles ahead of Yamaha's R1 of the era..." — Ultimate Motorcycling
Without a doubt, it's hard to conceive of a more fitting motorcycle to embody the poised power and lightning-quick strikes of the mamba. The CBR929RR has been meticulously transformed by RW Motorcycles, featuring a custom subframe, tail, and seat, as well as handcrafted front fender and fairing. Additional custom touches include a rectifier cover, license plate support, air intake, bespoke paintwork, and much more.
Below, we get a few more details from Francisco about the build.
