3 Days, 700 Miles, No Problems!

My wife and I spent last weekend traversing California’s High Sierras, her on her BMW F800GS, me on my YAMAHA XT1200Z Super Tenere. We rode over Sonora Pass to Sacramento, up Hwy 49 over Yuba Pass to Truckee, then south on Hwy 89 , west shore of Lake Tahoe. Our original plan was to ride Hwy 88 to Markleeville however the route was closed due to wildfire. We decided to go through South Lake Tahoe and over Kingsbury Grade SR 207 down to Hwy 395, and home to Mammoth Lakes. It was a wonderful trip in spite of the detour and smoke. Will do it again next spring. Come join us!
