This motorcycle tyre makes me pause, is it beyond a sensible limit?
Surely if every sprint motorcycle was limited to a six-inch wide tyre, we would still have terrific competition and terrific performance. I have just re-read Robert Post's HIGH PERFORMANCE; it is not for everyone, but he is good at arguing 'what is the purpose of drag racing / sprinting?' It has never been to achieve the greatest speed or lowest e.t. It has always been to BEAT the others. This motorcycle tyre makes me pause --- is it beyond a sensible limit? Surely if every motorcycle was limited to a six-inch wide tyre, we would still have terrific competition and terrific performance. If "the purpose" is to be faster, then Eric Teboul's H/20/2 rocket is logical. Post's book shows that many if not most imposed rules restricting machinery have come from the drivers/riders themselves.
