Motorcycle boot repair

I tend to put holes on my left boots inner sole, as that's the foot that goes on the ground. So I thought instead of buying a new one this time, why not reinforce it? Got myself some carbon fibre weave for and some shoe goo (flexible epoxy) 3 layers of fibre with shoe goo initially, compressed with sellotape to cure... As you can see, the outer layer literally took the shape of the tape. Some sanding, a second layer of epoxy ontop and some isopropyl etching / shine. We got ourselves a carbon fibre reinforced inner sole! Doesn't look the best first try, but should be practical. Will update on how it wears!

I am wondering about grip, especially if that is your primary point of contact coming to a stop.. I've seen cyclists with carbon soles on their road racing bicycle shoes slip on concrete/asphalt.
