Project VASQUEZ

Project Vasquez will be another take on a classic Yamaha Virago XV750. This is a commissioned build for a client in Ohio who has been awesome to work with. A few conversations with him and we learned what features he is looking for, what color scheme he likes, and then we went to work.
This is what we started with:

The first step in any build is complete disassembly. If you have ever tried to build your own custom bike, you know that this is the easy part. We have developed our own process for this phase that involves photographing, marking, cataloging, sorting and storing every nut, bolt and part that we remove. We inspect every aspect of the chassis, figure out what to discard, what to re-use, and which parts can be re-purposed. (By the way, if you know anyone who needs stock Virago turn signals, send them our way...)

With the bike in pieces and the design elements settled, we start with the rebuilding. Forks were completely disassembled. Uppers powder coated, springs checked, seals replaced, then put back together. Next we machined a new upper tree. The frame was stripped of all old paint, inspected, and powder coated. The swingarm got the same treatment. The motor was then disassembled and rebuilt with new rings, bearings, and seals, and all finished surfaces were powder coated. Now comes the fun part - putting it all back together, replacing all the wiring, and adding modern technology.
