Adapting the speedometer
So this mechanical speedometer just 440 LTD ... it is mounted on the left, and must be integrated into the wheel of the Z400 to be mounted right ...
I dismounted and subjected him to a serious cleaning.
The drive ring is inked to wheel which rotates and drives the pinion. This latter reports its towers on a rack which is at the bottom of the body of the speedometer. The same rack is integral with a cable that is connected to the counter, the latter converting the number of revolutions speed.
The body of the speedometer it does not move, integral with the axis of the wheel and the fork.
In these two pictures it is clear that the locations for the speedometer on the hubs are different, in particular as regards the slots where the drive ring of the pinion is wedged. We will have to adapt ...
On the new wheel drive ring must be accommodated on the support as shown here on the left.
I have then only raise the speedometer in the stuffing fat.
