2017. Crash.
August 8, 2017,
An elderly lady pulled out to make an illegal left in front of me.
I was moving at 40 mph, and had 18 feet to react. Long story short, I didn’t thread the needle clean enough, and totaled the bike.
The front end, frame, fender, rim, and tire were the main damages, but several additional scrapes and bends from going down completed the ordeal.
This all resulted in a zero bolts frame strip rebuild from the floor up.
The engine was fine, thankfully. All my drivetrain survives, and most of my accessories. After the insurance settlement and eight months of work, I was back on the road again. With a few upgrades fir good measure.

Reflexes saved me big time. I was able to sorta jump off the bike at the point of contact, and rolled onto my back when I finally came down.
