One of many winter jobs on the bike was fixing the fairing.
Lower left half was broken in two pieces, top fairing a piece was barely holding on and another big chunk missing. Read online that abs plastic can be melted with a soldering iron so i grave it a try and it worked great! The technique required is to first align the two pieces. Then, with the flat tip of the soldering iron, cut though both pieces at a 45º angle and keep on making what I would call waves of material. Be careful not to go through the paint obviously. After that i leveled the wavy plastic once again with the iron to make it more uniform and strong. Cleaned everything then put on top of that a mixture glass fiber and bicomponent epossidic glue. Put a layer of heat shield on top and it seems to be working great. For the missing piece on the top fairing, where you can see a white colour, it's simply a lego brick (so sad to sacrifice one for the cause but oh well) melted to the desired shape, I just made a quick mold with paper tape to define the edges and once again reinforced with glue and glass fiber...Hope this helps someone and ride safe
