Exhaust system
The exhaust thing can be done as these photo's demonstrate. I guess if you have the skill, time, materials, money and vision most things are possible. I just have to be realistic about how much of that list applies to me and at best I can muster 20%!
As for the footrests - the original 1982 Tiger Trail parts manual supplement shows that the bike was specified with folding footrests (83-2858 & 83-2859).
I've been on the track of these parts for so long now that I have almost admitted defeat. I am keen to see if a standard pair of footrests could be cut and adapted to take a modern set of folding pegs which would bring the gear lever back into normal range and avoid any unpleasantness around kick start arcs and battered shins....
