Ducati continues to increase sales in many regions, while the US remains the Italian bike maker’s largest market.

Ducati sold 55,871 motorcycles in 2017, and Italian market grew by 12 percent. Global sales grew slightly (55 451 >> 55 871), but the number helped Ducati achieve an eighth-straight year of record growth.1493405a5f5cdf8a320.jpg

Each motorcycle in the model line played an important role. In 2017, Ducati expanded the Multistrada line. Multistrada 950 motorcycles were quite popular, as well as all models of the Monster line. All 500 units of the 1299 Superleggera superbikes were purchased (80,000 EURO each) ahead of production.

A total of 14,061 Ducati Scramblers also were sold, which makes a significant portion of overall sales. In addition, new Scrambler models Desert Sled and Cafe Racer were released in 2017.

Italian market grew by 12 percent (8,806 motorcycles delivered). Overall European market grew by 4 percent to a total of 31,123. Spanish market grew by 28.3 percent. In the USA – which remains Ducati’s biggest market – deliveries were up by 1.3 percent, with bike sales totaling 8,898. Argentina grew by 66 percent.

In Asia Ducati sold 5,805 bikes, also strengthening its position in China (+ 31 percent) where the dealership network doubled in size from 9 to 18.

In 2018, the Italian manufacturer has high hopes for the all-new superbike Panigale V4, Scrambler 1100, renewed tourenduro Multistrada 1260, Monster 821 and the 959 Panigale Corse.
