Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) was the fastest in FP2 at the Gran Premio Red Bull de España. The Briton, who won the second session in Argentina, is in great shape. In the second free practice session at Jerez, he managed to take the top line, as he finished the first session eighth.
In general, Honda riders dominate. If Mark Marquez did not crash out on the penultimate lap, then the Honda pilots could take the first three lines. The Spaniard led most of the session, but elected not to use a soft rear tire in the closing minutes and then crashed at the Dry Sac right-hander. Fortunately, he wasn’t injured. Despite crashing, Marquez wound up in fifth.
Dani Pedrosa showed the second time. Zarco settled for third, 0.004s ahead of Suzuki's Andrea Iannone. The Ducati team has little problems. Andrea Dovizioso ended the run in sixth.
