Recently, Kawasaki has been putting things in place for 2023, by re-signing Jonathan Rea for its factory World Superbike team, and introducing new colours for a number of its road models.
This year in WorldSBK - and arguably last year, too - the current generation ZX-10R has begun to show its age. To the extent, in fact, that there has been some discussion over whether the Akashi factory should introduce a new homologation model.
That does not seem as though it will be the case, though, to what is presumably the disappointment of those working inside the Provec-run Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK (KRT).
Instead, the 2023 ZX-10R will be a continuation of the current generation, with just a small graphical tweak to the KRT-inspired livery on the production model.
This comes from Kawasaki Indonesia, which has now listed Kawasaki’s 2023 flagship sports bike on its website.
For 2023, there will be more green on the ZX-10R, which should be of some pleasure to Kawasaki fans. It had seemed for a while that Kawasaki’s colour was becoming black more than green, but in recent years - at least with the sports bike - the green has come back to greater prominence.
Although it is currently available only in Indonesia, we can expect this 2023 ZX-10R to be listed throughout Kawasaki’s global network in the coming weeks. For example, the recently announced 2023 colours for the Z900RS were revealed in the US a few days before they were globalised.
