Sometimes, it’s the least likely donor models that can make for some of the most interesting one-off two-wheeled works. And for proof, look no further than Voodoo Garage’s latest project, a BMW R1150GS Adventure that’s been transformed into a minimalistic hooligan bike.
Starting with a 1999 model year Adventure-spec GS, the Spanish shop has stripped the donor down to a rolling chassis, before building it back up using the stock extended-range fuel-cell, a custom tail section, and a bespoke headlight assembly with a stacked pair of projector-style bulbs and backlit “BMW” logos. In addition to a bespoke leather and suede saddle, the tail also sports an equally involved taillight setup with four horizontal pieces of acrylic and a “BMW” logo cutout — both of which are backlit using red LEDs. Dubbed the “INTERCEPTOR,” the build’s cockpit now boasts a set of swept-back handlebars outfitted with bar-end LEDS, Motogadget drop-down mirrors, top-shelf aftermarket switchgear, and a Motogadget Motoscope Mini sunken into the risers. Other highlights and upgrades include an Akrapovič exhaust, a one-off pie-cut intake system, Roundels replaced with custom shop badges, an oil-cooler relocation, and a custom radiator guard, license plate holder, and swing-arm guard. Rounding out the build is a custom livery inspired by BMW’s classic M racing colors.
