Built to BSB and Isle of Man TT spec, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 was ridden by Guy Martin and Steve Mercer. It was raced at the Isle of Man TT, although served Guy at the Northwest 200 and Ulster Grand Prix too. It’s claimed the build cost, back in 2013, was in the region of £80,000, and the bike boasts K-tech suspension, a quick-release swingarm, Yoshimura loom and ECU, and a superbike-spec engine. The ex-Guy Martin Tyco Suzuki GSX-R1000 has been given a guide price of between £20,000 and £25,000 – plus buyer’s premium and VAT.

For a slice of something slightly more exotic, you could also be landing a true race-used MotoGP prototype in your garage this Christmas, as an ex-Colin Edwards FTR Kawasaki is also going under the hammer.

Built for the 2013 season, FTR fielded Colin Edwards Claudio Corti in the NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team as part of the CRT grid of bikes. Edwards rounded out the season with a best finish of 9th at the Circuito de Catalunya, ending the season in 14th place in the championship standings.

The bike is as it was when it finished the final round of the year at Valencia, and has been owned by its current owner since 2015 and only ever used at parades and events. It’s even complete with its huge carbon brakes, and steel discs are also provided.

Obviously, former MotoGP bikes are expensive bits of kit, although the FTR actually looks fairly good value, with an estimate of between £35,000 and £40,000 placed on it.

More information on the FTR Kawasaki can be found on the Silverstone auctions website.

More information on the Tyco Suzuki can be found on the Silverstone Auctions website.
