BMW Motorrad is updating most of its lineup for 2023. We recently saw the new colours and graphics for the BMW G 310 GS and G 310 R. These are the brand’s entry-level offerings. Along with that, BMW has also updated the F 900 XR with new colours. However, apart from the new colour, there have been no mechanical changes.
BMW already offers the F 900 XR and the F 900 R in the Indian market. And since they come in as imports, it is likely BMW will bring the new colour options to the Indian market soon. However, the brand has not confirmed an Indian launch yet.
2023 BMW F 900 XR – New Colour Options
For 2023, the F 900 XR will be available with a new Racing Blue Metallic colour option. The colour option also includes a body-coloured engine sump guard as standard. Apart from the new colour option, the F 900 XR is available in two more colours – Black Storm Metallic 2 and Granite Grey Metallic Matt. The Black Storm Metallic 2 is also known as the Triple Black model and features a complete blacked-out look. On the other hand, the Granite Grey Metallic Matt is also known as the Light White. This colour option features red XR decals on the front shrouds and, unlike the other colour options, gets silver colour rims.
2023 BMW F 900 XR – Technical Specifications
As we mentioned earlier, apart from the new colour option, the F 900 XR does not get any mechanical changes. Thus, it continues to use the same 895cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin 4-valve DOHC motor. The engine produces max power of 105 HP at 8,500 rpm and max torque of 92 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The gearbox on the F 900 XR is a 6-speed unit with an anti-hopping clutch.
As for suspension, it uses 43 mm upside-down forks at the front with 170 mm of travel. Meanwhile, the rear uses a preload and rebound damping adjustable monoshock with 172 mm of travel. As for the brakes, the F 900 XR uses dual 320 mm discs with 4-piston radial callipers at the front and a single 265mm disc with a single-piston calliper at the back.
The F 900 XR measures 2,160 mm in length, 860 mm in width and 1,320-1,420 mm in height. The kerb weight of the bike is 219 kg. The seat height is 825 mm. However, there are various lowering kits and low seat height options available.
The F900 XR rides on a 120/70 front and 180/55 section rear tyre. As for the wheels, it uses 17-inch cast aluminium wheels at both ends.
