31 years later. From Cagiva Elefant to Ducati DesertX with Termignoni exhaust system

This is the Ducati DesertX off-road motorcycle. The model of this Ducati motorcycle was designed and unveiled at the 2019 EICMA show. The DesertX concept looks very much like a rally motorcycle from the 90s and this design makes sense, as this model is dedicated to the 1990 Rally Paris-Dakar. 

The prototype model of the DesertX motorcycle is a Cagiva Elefant 900 rally bike. This bike for Rally Paris-Dakar was based on the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Cagiva with a Ducati engine and Termignoni exhaust system. The bike turned out to be very successful, giving the Italian manufacturer the opportunity to win championship titles at the Paris-Dakar races in 1990 and in 1994. For the thirtieth anniversary of these victories Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A created the DesertX motorcycle and like thirty years ago this Ducati model is equipped with Termignoni exhaust system.

Ducatli offers two Termignoni muffler options for the DesertX motorcycle. The first option is a homologated Termignoni muffler for the use of the motorcycle on public roads. The second variant "Racing" for fans of tuning motorcycles and sports riding on sports tracks.
