HISTORY OF THE COOPERATION OF TWO NAMED BRANDS YAMAHA and TERMIGNONI.
The history of cooperation between Termignoni and Yamaha dates back to 2002. In prestigious international championships like MotoGP and World SBK, Termignoni acts as a technical partner for Yamaha Racing. For the MotoGP class competitions, Termignoni developed an exhaust system for Yamaha's racing bike, the YZR-M1.
Over the following years, Termignoni and Yamaha Racing continuously worked on improving the M1 motorcycle's performance. As a result of this collaboration, a qualitatively new modification of the M1 racing bike appeared by the 2004 championship. For piloting the improved bike, Yamaha Racing's factory team invited riders Valentino Rossi and Norick Abe. An identical racing bike was created for the satellite team, Fortuna Yamaha, which included riders Carlos Checa and Marco Melandri.
In the subsequent years, Yamaha and Termignoni consistently worked on enhancing the technical characteristics of the Yamaha YZR-M1 motorcycle. Together, Termignoni and Yamaha Racing won five MotoGP championship titles over the years. Riders such as Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo became champions on the Yamaha YZR-M1 equipped with a Termignoni exhaust system. The collaboration between Termignoni and Yamaha Racing continued until 2011.
In parallel with the MotoGP championships, Termignoni also acted as a technical partner for Yamaha Racing in the international World SBK championships. For this class of championships, Termignoni developed an exhaust system for the superbike Yamaha YZF R1, which was piloted by riders Andrew Pitt and Noriyuki Haga.
