A chronicle of bringing a 2006 GL-1800 to life. Part 1.

It took me a long time to buy this bike, and I never thought I would buy a Golda. At different ages there were different reasons why not - starting from the old age of the oppositions and ending it only on the review ride. But the years went by, I grew up, got fat, rode a lot of things and, taking into account the first two points, I realized that all motorcycles are small. No, from afar they are ok, with other riders they are ok, but when I sit down - so "uncle get away from the moped". That's how I came to the Goldwing. And suddenly I realized that I had rejected it before for nothing. Comfort, dynamics, controllability - for such a carcass is unexpectedly at the height. Later I will write a review on it in comparison with the new Golda and other classmates. And now I will get to the subject of the post.

I bought it towards the end of July and it was the cheapest offer on the market. To my deep regret - the bike had strong traces of tuning. From the additional equipment installed:

1. Alpine PDX-9 amplifier + condenser

2. Subwoofer

3. Replaced speakers

4. Painted in red-black

5. Xenon in the headlights and fog lights

6. Alarm starline which is without key fobs and does not work

7. And of course - bulbs in all places. Which by the time of purchase functioned almost nothing.

Of course, immediately began problems - half of the speakers chaotically disconnected. And if you look at the following picture, you will understand why:

The amplifier was pulled out of its place, the wires were obviously not enough and were extended through this one. Half of the wires were not tightened and were moving freely

Bought audio cable and made temporary wiring:

I couldn't put the amp in properly, so I left it as is for the rest of the season:

While driving around town it felt like something was wrong with the clutch. So I decided to change the fluid. And pump it, of course. When I took off the left side cover, I saw a wonderful thing:

And another marvelous thing I saw when I took the plow off:

It's the fog light assemblies. One of them doesn't work anymore.

The drained fluid doesn't look like brake fluid at all:

It's all clean now:

Started heating up in traffic, decided to change the coolant (and don't tell me that I should have changed all the fluids at once. I know :)).

Part two coming soon...
